Born in the heartland state of Oklahoma, Darrett's early years were filled with an energetic passion for sports, laying the groundwork for a lifelong appreciation of physical activity. However, his true calling would soon become evident as he discovered his talent for the performing arts in high school, where he began to explore the world of theatre.
After completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting at the prestigious College of Santa Fe, Darrett packed his bags and relocated to the vibrant city of Chicago, where he had the opportunity to hone his craft as an intern at the esteemed Steppenwolf Theatre.
As his career continued to flourish, Darrett went on to perform in various productions across the country, including Seattle, Denver, Santa Fe, and South Carolina. Eventually, he made the move to Los Angeles, where he has worked on numerous small stages and is an active member of Theatre of NOTE and Echo Theater.
In addition to his work on stage, Darrett is also a self-taught filmmaker, and his debut feature film, Scream Of The Bikini, has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards at smaller festivals throughout the United States. Serving as producer, actor, editor, and director of photography on the film, Darrett's multifaceted talents are evident in every aspect of his work.
Now, with his feature-length directorial debut, Kill Me, Deadly, Darrett has solidified his position as a rising star in the film industry. His membership in the Directors Guild of America is a testament to his dedication and commitment to his craft.
