Daniela Dakich is a Serbian actress born in Tuzla, Bosnia, now a part of the country formerly known as Yugoslavia. She grew up in Belgrade, Serbia, where she was influenced by her Montenegrin and Italian ancestry. Her early interest in acting began at the tender age of three, and she quickly became a child TV star in Yugoslavia. She received her acting training from the theatre, graduating from the Drama Youth School and later, the Acting Conservatory for young adults, both under the guidance of the renowned acting teacher Tomislav Krstic.
In addition to her formal training, Daniela also received opera training for eight years under the tutelage of Maida Softic, with whom she toured former Yugoslavia as a member of a famous choir. She also performed with the acting children's troop "Omladinski", touring former Yugoslavian countries and participating in over 700 theatre shows.
As a child, Daniela was bitten by the acting bug after watching Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, Western and silent movies, Looney Tunes, and other classic films. She began imitating these characters, writing sketches and poems, and performing them at school competitions, where she was discovered by Tomislav Krstic.
Daniela enjoys working in the film industry, theatre, and TV equally, and has even done voice-over work for Microsoft products. In her younger years, she was an athletic child, earning a blue belt in karate and often performing her own martial arts scenes in movies. She is also an expert in stage combat, applying her experience in her acting work.
In addition to her athletic pursuits, Daniela was a competitive runner, competing in 600-meter and 800-meter events and becoming a school champion. She was also the youngest volleyball captain for a school team and a member of a school basketball and rifle shooting teams. She is an avid swimmer and tennis player.
After relocating to the United States to pursue her acting career, Daniela finished the HB Studio Conservatory Acting Program, studying under renowned instructors such as Ed Morehouse, Austin Pendleton, Carol Rosenfeld, Aleksey Burago, Fred Timm, Victor Slezak, Karen Ludwig, and Carol Goodheart. She also studied with Anne Bogart at Siti Company and completed the UCB Improv Training in New York.
Since arriving in New York, Daniela has been working consistently, appearing in off-Broadway productions and collaborating with esteemed directors and actors such as Michael Parva, Directors Company, Invictus Theatre, Tovah Feldshuh, Ian Morgan, The New Group, Catherine Filloux, Laura Esterman, Rasa Alan Kazlas, Austin Pendleton, Aleksey Burago, Florenzia Lozano, Dan Gordon, Russell Brand, Beth Stern, and Bob Giraldi.
Some of her acting inspirations include Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Russell Crowe, Clint Eastwood, Robert Downey Jr, Johnny Depp, Stephen Spielberg, and James Cameron, and she would love the opportunity to work with them.
