Daniel Jones, a thespian of great renown, embarked on a rigorous artistic journey, commencing with a three-year stint at Rose Bruford College from 1964 to 1967. This foundational period of study laid the groundwork for his future endeavors, as he subsequently honed his craft under the tutelage of the illustrious Jacques Lecoq in the City of Light, Paris, for a year.
As his acting career gained momentum, Jones took to the stage, assuming a wide range of roles in repertory theatre. His performances were marked by depth and nuance, as he brought to life characters such as Mason in Journeys End, Uncle Sam in The Homecoming, and Harold in Boys in the Band. This versatility and range served him well in his foray into the realm of film and television, where he made a name for himself in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
However, Jones' creative path took a turn towards the pedagogical, as he ventured into teaching, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of artists. It was not until 2013 that he returned to the world of acting, adopting the pseudonym Daniel Johns and focusing primarily on film work.
In recent years, Jones has made a triumphant return to the stage, taking on the role of Nagg in a production of Endgame in Kingston. Additionally, his work in the 2016 film Six Rounds, in which he portrayed George, was selected for screening at the prestigious East London Film Festival.
