Dan Istrate, a talented actor, has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry with his versatility and range. Born in Transylvania, Romania, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the best and brightest in both the US and European cinema.
With a flair for comedy and drama, Dan has portrayed a wide range of roles, from Enzo, a lovable strip club owner, in the comedy series Sexpectations, to more dramatic roles in feature films like Her Tango and Golani.
In addition to his work in film and television, Dan has also had a successful career in theater, performing in productions such as Quantum Leap, Great News, and S.W.A.T. He has also been a company member of Synetic Theatre in Virginia for ten years, and has performed at various theaters in the United States, including the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Arena Stage, and Studio Theatre.
As a dancer and musician, Dan has collaborated with various companies and artists, including the Sharna Fabiano Tango Company and baredances in Washington DC, and independent dance artists in Los Angeles.
Dan Istrate is a graduate of the University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, Romania, and has performed at various theaters in his home country, including the National Theatre in Bucharest and the Radu Stanca Theatre in Sibiu.
He has also performed internationally, appearing in productions in Bucharest, Tbilisi, Izmir, Bratislava, Paris, and Seoul.
Dan is currently represented by More Zap Productions & Management and Park Artists Group, and is working on a new mini-series for the Synetic Motion Pictures Streaming Platform.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Dan is also a co-producer, co-director, and star of the art-house film Golani, a raw and heart-wrenching portrayal of life during Communism in the late 1980s in Romania.
