Count Stovall

Count Stovall, a renowned theatre aficionado, was born on the cusp of the radio era in the vibrant city of East Los Angeles. His early years were spent in East Oakland, where he developed a strong foundation before embarking on a journey that would shape his future. Following a year of college, Count made the courageous decision to enlist in the US Army, where he spent three formative years honing his skills and gaining valuable life experience. Upon his return to Oakland, he enrolled at Merritt College, where he began to cultivate his passion for acting. His academic pursuits took him to the University of California, and it was there that he laid the groundwork for his future success. After completing his studies, Count joined the prestigious American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, where he had the opportunity to work alongside some of the Bay Area's most talented artists. This marked the beginning of a remarkable career that would span decades, with highlights including a national tour of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, No Place to be Somebody, in 1970. The rest, as they say, is history.
