Biography

Here is the person biography:

Joan Marie Laurer, known professionally as Chyna, was a renowned American professional wrestler, model, actress, and fitness competitor. Born on December 27, 1969, in Rochester, New York, Chyna grew up in a home filled with alcoholism and domestic problems, which led her to find solace in working out and developing a passion for fitness.

Chyna's early life was marked by her shyness, which she overcame by becoming one of the only females in a gym near her home. She began doing aerobics and lifting weights, eventually developing a strong physique that would serve her well in her future endeavors.

After graduating from the University of Tampa with a double major in Spanish Literature and a 3.9 GPA, Chyna served in the U.S. Army ROTC and the Peace Corps, where she helped teach illiterate third-world children to read. She also studied foreign languages, becoming proficient in English, Spanish, German, and French.

Chyna's entry into the entertainment world began as a belly dancer and fitness competitor, but she soon found her true calling in professional wrestling. Under the guidance of wrestling legend Walter 'Killer' Kowalski, Chyna trained to become a professional wrestler and quickly made a name for herself in the PGWA, winning the 1996 Rookie of the Year award for the Women's Championship.

Chyna's wrestling career was marked by her dominance in the ring, where she broke gender stereotypes by competing against some of the toughest men in the WWF. She became the only woman to qualify for the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring tournaments, and held the titles of Intercontinental Champion and Women's Champion.

In addition to her wrestling career, Chyna appeared in several films, hosted various shows, and modeled for top magazines, including two top-selling issues of "Playboy" magazine. She also released her own fitness video, "Chyna Fitness: More Than Meets the Eye," which won awards from fitness and lifestyle magazines.

Chyna's success extended beyond the world of entertainment. She was a strong supporter of the National Animal Rescue charity and served as a role model for millions of men and women, proving that anything is possible through hard work and determination.

Throughout her life, Chyna faced personal demons, including depression and emotional trauma. However, she overcame these challenges and continued to work in the entertainment industry, appearing in films, television shows, and music videos.

In 2009, Chyna released a fashion book, "Paper Doll," which became a best-seller. She also returned to professional wrestling with TNA, debuting on the May 12 edition of TNA iMPACT! Wrestling and competing in one last match at the TNA TNA: Sacrifice Pay-per-view.

In June 2011, Chyna released her first adult video with Vivid Entertainment, "Backdoor to Chyna," which sold over a million copies. She continued to work in the adult entertainment industry, appearing in films and music videos, and embarked on a media tour, appearing on dozens of radio shows and in high-end nightclubs.

Chyna died on April 20, 2016, at the age of 46, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most successful and influential professional wrestlers of all time.
