Chris Trousdale was born in Port Richey, Florida, and spent his early years in Dearborn, Michigan. As a young child, he was drawn to the stage and began his Broadway career at the tender age of eight, touring with the production of "Les Miserables" alongside Ashley Tisdale.
As he grew older, Chris moved to New York City at the age of ten to join the Broadway production of "Glee" alongside Lea Michelle. During his time in New York, he was a part of the well-known children's group "The Broadway Kids," which counted Christy Carlson Romano, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Lacey Chabert among its members.
Chris' impressive performances caught the attention of two producers who were assembling a boy band in New York City. In 1999, he joined "Dream Street," a group that consisted of five members, including Jesse McCartney. The group released their debut album in 2001, which reached number one on Billboard's Independent Albums chart and sold a million copies nationwide.
After three years with "Dream Street," Chris decided to pursue a solo career and continued his education at the Professional Performing Arts School. He went on to record several popular tracks, including "Kissless Christmas" and "Wild Christmas," as well as duets with the girl group Play and solo artist Nikki Cleary.
However, Chris' solo career was put on hold in 2006 when he moved back to Michigan to care for his ailing mother. He took a year-long break from the entertainment industry before returning to the spotlight in 2007.
Chris has since appeared in the crime thriller "Seducing Spirits" and has been a regular cast member on the popular Disney show "Shake It Up," where he plays the role of Justin Starr, a charismatic teen with a passion for music.
