Chad Lail, a decorated American professional wrestler, gained widespread recognition under the moniker Jaxson Ryker during his tenure with WWE. Prior to his WWE stint, Lail had a distinguished career in the wrestling world, beginning in 2001 as Phil Shatter in various independent promotions.
Following his military service in the Iraq War, Lail transitioned to professional wrestling, eventually signing with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2010. Under the ring name Gunner, he joined the villainous group Immortal, winning the TNA Television Championship during his tenure.
As Gunner, Lail also formed a notable tag team partnership with James Storm, capturing the TNA World Tag Team Championship alongside his rival-turned-partner. After leaving Immortal, Lail continued to work as a singles and tag team wrestler, showcasing his versatility in the ring.
In 2015, Lail parted ways with TNA and, two years later, signed a contract with WWE. Initially assigned to the developmental territory NXT, he adopted the ring name Jaxson Ryker. In 2018, Lail joined forces with Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake to form The Forgotten Sons, a stable that would go on to work on SmackDown in April 2020.
Although his stablemates Cutler and Blake were released, Lail continued to work with WWE until his release in November 2021. Throughout his career, Lail has demonstrated his adaptability, strength, and dedication to the world of professional wrestling.
