Biography

Cezil Reed, a multifaceted writer from Northern Virginia, embarked on a creative journey that spanned decades, with a humble beginning in rap verses and poetry at the tender age of 13, followed by a foray into screenwriting at 18.

Throughout his high school years, Cezil frequently found himself in new environments, either due to switching schools or getting into fights, earning him a reputation as a formidable battler, his skills honed in the art of freestyle rap.

Growing up in a challenging environment, with a father who struggled to keep him on the right path, Cezil's trajectory was far from predictable. Despite the odds, he managed to maintain an impressive academic record, finishing his senior year with a nearly perfect 4.0 GPA.

The influence of his mother, who instilled in him the belief that anything is possible, played a significant role in shaping his future. After a stint in the juvenile justice system, Cezil left his hometown to pursue a degree in Film & Video at Columbia College-Chicago.

During his time in Chicago, Cezil discovered a newfound passion for the Spanish language, which eventually led him to spend 18 months traveling across Latin America, immersing himself in the culture and learning the language. This experience had a profound impact on his writing, particularly in his exploration of Magical Realism.

Returning to his Virginia roots, Cezil teamed up with his childhood friend, Lydelle Jackson, to establish a production company. Together, they wrote 16 screenplays and created their first feature film, "The Taking," a horror movie shot on a shoestring budget of $13,000.

The duo later ventured into comedy, developing a web series that garnered the endorsement of industry professionals Steven DeKnight and David Fury. They went on to produce and direct a variety show called "The Milli Show," further solidifying their reputation as a dynamic creative force.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Cezil and Lydelle have completed their second produced feature, "Not Alone," a sci-fi film that allows them to explore their fascination with extraterrestrials and visual effects.
