Cathy Ang, a talented individual with a rich cultural heritage, was born to Chinese-Filipino parents in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Her parents, who met at the prestigious University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines, made the bold decision to immigrate to the United States to pursue their medical careers, laying the foundation for Cathy's future success.
Growing up in Cupertino, California, Cathy was raised by her two older sisters, Stephanie and Kimberly Ang, who played a significant role in shaping her life and serving as her role models. Despite not initially considering a career in performance, Cathy's passion for singing was evident from an early age, with her family members often bearing witness to her vocal talents at home.
Cathy's journey took a dramatic turn when she was accepted into NYU Steinhardt's esteemed Vocal Performance program. It was during her time at the university, specifically in the Musical Theatre department, that she discovered her true calling and "fell in love" with acting. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of her career in the performing arts.
Since then, Cathy has made New York City her home, where she has primarily worked in theatre and voiceover. Her most notable achievement to date is undoubtedly her role as the voice of Fei Fei in Netflix's animated film Over the Moon (2020),a project that has brought her widespread recognition and acclaim.
