Cass Warner, born Debora Cassie Sperling, was a pioneering American filmmaker, belonging to the esteemed Warner family, whose legacy in the film industry dates back to the founders of Warner Bros. studio. As the daughter of Milton Sperling, an award-winning writer and producer, and Betty Warner Sperling, Cass Warner was immersed in the world of filmmaking from a young age.

The film was narrated, directed, written, and produced by Warner herself and aired on the PBS American Masters series for two years.
Throughout her career, Warner received numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious HBO Films Producer Award and an Emmy nomination for her work as a director in 2009.
