Carmelita Geraghty, a talented actress, was born into a family of writers, being the daughter of screenwriter Tom Geraghty and the sister of writers Maurice Geraghty and Gerald Geraghty.
She graduated from Hollywood High School, where she took on a leadership role, being in charge of the school calendar.
In 1924, Carmelita was voted a WAMPAS BabyStar, a prestigious honor that recognized her potential as a rising star in Hollywood.
As a leading lady, she appeared in numerous films alongside notable actors, including Reed Howes and Estelle Taylor's husband, former heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey.
However, with the advent of sound in the film industry, Carmelita's stardom began to fade, and she transitioned to playing supporting roles in low-budget productions, often playing the "other woman" in these films.
Eventually, she retired from acting in the mid-1930s and went on to pursue a new passion - art.
Carmelita married Carey Wilson and became a skilled artist, with her work being showcased at the Weil Gardens in Paris, France, during the later years of her life.
