Cain, a 2006 graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts' full-time acting course, has built a versatile career as both an actor and physical performer. His extensive credits span professional theatre, television, and film, with notable performances including The NIDA production of The Boys, directed by Tamara Cook, as well as feature-length film Wyrmwood - Road of the Dead and his nominated performances in The McNeil Project, directed by Malcom Robertson, and A Private Matter, directed by Kate Halpin, for which he received a best actor nomination at the Milan Film Festival.
In recent years, Cain has shifted his focus to writing, directing, and producing film. He began creating scenes as a means of practicing acting and having fun, but soon discovered a more collaborative and creative outlet in writing and directing. His first film, Breaking Out, has recently been completed and is ready to embark on its festival journey.
Cain's second film, Stella, which he wrote and produced, premiered at Australia's Tropfest in 2016. His third film, Pet Hitman, is currently in post-production and is set to be a signature film for Wattle We Do Next.
