Çaglar Ertugrul was born on November 5, 1987, in the vibrant city of Izmir, Turkey. His family, of Turkish descent, has a rich history, having immigrated to Turkey from Crete and Bulgaria following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. He pursued his academic interests in mechanical engineering at Koç University, graduating from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
During his college years, Çaglar's passion for the performing arts led him to join the theater club, where he showcased his talents in productions such as "Romeolar ve Julietler", "Yobaz", and "Kaos Teorileri". He further honed his craft by enrolling in acting training programs at Akademi 35 Buçuk in 2010, and later, at The Lee Strasberg Institute in West Hollywood, California, where he studied method acting in 2016. Additionally, he participated in comedy improvisation classes at The Groundlings.
Çaglar's professional acting career began in 2012, with his lead role in the feature film "Dag", followed by the sequel "Dag 2", which became Turkey's box office champions in 2016. He has since appeared in a variety of feature films, including "Bana Masal Anlatma", "Biz Size Döneriz", "Ailecek Saskiniz", "Yanimda Kal", and "Scent of my Daughter".
His television debut came in 2012, with his lead role in "Benim Için Üzülme". He has since become a prominent figure in Turkish television, starring in numerous series, such as "Boynu Bükükler", "Galip Dervis", "Kurt Seyit ve Shura", "Beyaz Karanfil", and "Medcezir".
In 2016, Çaglar Ertugrul showcased his dramatic range in the drama series "Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlari", playing the role of Yagiz Egemen. He then demonstrated his comedic skills in the romantic-comedy series "Afili Ask" in 2019, starring as Kerem Yigiter.
