Bruna Matsin is a renowned French-American actress, writer, filmmaker, and producer, with a rich and diverse career spanning multiple awards and accolades.
Born in the charming town of Cambrai, Northern France, Matsin spent most of her life in the United States, where she pursued her passion for the performing arts.
Initially, Matsin attended law school after studying political science for a year. However, she soon returned to her true love for the performing arts, enrolling in the San Francisco Shelton Studios and later transferring to the prestigious American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) under the artistic direction of Bruce Williams.
Throughout her acting career, Matsin has garnered numerous awards for her work as a writer, filmmaker, and producer. Her directorial debut, "The Lollipop Thief," won the "Best Family Short Film" Award at the 2015 San Diego International Kids' Film Festival. Her screenplay for animation, "The Fairy & The Princess," received the "Final Draft Best Short Screenplay" Award and won 3rd Place at Scriptamation, as well as being nominated at the Back in the Box Festival.
As a producer, Matsin has collaborated on edgy films such as "Too Hip for the Room: The Righteous Reign of Lord Buckley," a documentary executive produced by Alex Gibney, and the award-winning film "Done In" starring Guy Henry, produced by S.J. Evans at Dark Art Films.
In 2019, Matsin won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Under the Stars International Film Festival for her role as "Ms. Rodaz" in "Playing Ourselves" directed by Nicolas Alayo.
Matsin is also an accomplished voice-over artist, having dubbed iconic actresses such as Dame Maggie Smith and Olympia Dukakis.
