Throughout my teaching career, I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for film, literature, and education with students from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
As a Creative Director, I've written, directed, edited, and produced over 50 independent film productions since 2005, and marketed, promoted, and exhibited a number of these to cinema audiences over the years.
My experience as a Creative Director has given me the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, from writing and directing to editing and production.
I've also written, directed, and edited a number of music videos and commercial promos, and my filmography includes a range of non-profit music documentaries, feature films, and short films.
In addition to my work as a Creative Director, I've been recognized for my efforts to raise awareness about social issues, including teenage knife and gun crime.
In 2009, I was commended by the Houses of Parliament for my work on raising awareness about teenage knife and gun crime.
I'm currently working on a documentary about autism, poetry, and social class in the north west of England, which is set to be released in 2025.
As a freelance journalist, I've written articles and reviews for a range of national and international publications, including The Morning Star, Culture Matters, Counterfire, and WBAI Radio in New York.
I've also been hosting and editing the Serious Feather Arts podcast since 2023, where I interview leading academics and authors about their latest publications, research projects, and productions.
