His initial intention was to inquire about quick-cash modeling assignments, but manager Jim Sheasgreen had other plans in store for him. Sheasgreen suggested that Fehr pursue TV acting instead, and just a week later, he was given the opportunity to audition for a nine-line guest role on the popular high-school-at-sea series, Breaker High.
At the time, Fehr was mere days away from starting his studies at the University of Manitoba, with a plan to become a teacher. However, heeding his mother's wise counsel, he decided to give acting his full attention, putting his academic pursuits on hold to explore this newfound passion.
