Brenda Jo Reutebuch, a multifaceted character actress, was born Brenda Joan Sisson on October 25th in Adamsboro, Indiana. Growing up, she was a tomboy who spent most of her early childhood working with her father, caring for the animals on their farm and fishing in the nearby rivers.
Although Brenda Jo was involved in local theater and music programs during her school years in Logansport, Indiana, it wasn't until she was 50 years old that she made her film debut.
Brenda Jo attended St. Paul Bible College in Minnesota for five years, studying music education and church music. She had been performing vocal music in public since grade school and received classical training in private vocal lessons at Logansport High School and continued her training at SPBC under the tutelage of Mr. Leland Flickinger.
In addition to her vocal talents, Brenda Jo is a skilled musician, playing the piano/keyboard, clarinet, and guitar, and has a near four-octave vocal range. She is also a freelance and behind-the-scenes photographer.
Following a Chicago ARTS Showcase, Brenda Jo signed with the Helen Wells Agency in Indianapolis, Indiana. Within two years, her performance opportunities grew, including live theater performances and several film, commercial, and television opportunities, starting with an indie feature, "This Promise I Made," in 2012.
Brenda Jo's passion for music has also been utilized in film, as she has written her first song, "Father Hold Me," for the feature film "Rose Wagon," a soon-to-be Christmas classic family film. She also sang two Christmas solos in this film.
Now, Brenda Jo is looking forward with great anticipation to her future in the arts, both on stage and on the screen.
