His father, Jack, worked tirelessly as a coal miner, while his mother, Jeannie, dedicated herself to the noble cause of United Way, serving the southeastern Utah region with unwavering dedication.
As a young person, Bill was actively involved in his school's drama program, where he honed his skills in the art of acting and playwriting. He also developed a passion for music, mastering the clarinet, bass clarinet, and drums. This multifaceted talent would serve him well in his future endeavors.
Bill's academic pursuits took him to The College of Eastern Utah, where he laid the foundation for his future success. Upon graduation, he continued his education at Mesa State College, where he pursued a dual major in acting and directing, as well as technical design. During his time at Mesa, Bill had the privilege of being mentored by esteemed professionals in the field, including Equity Actor Peter Ivanov and Broadway Designer (U.S.A.) member David M. Cox.
