Ben Miller biography:
Ben met Alexander Armstrong in 1992 at Cambridge University, where they were both studying physics. Instead of finishing his PhD, Ben chose to pursue a career in comedy. The pair started playing at the Comedy Club Footlights, Cambridge, and eventually appeared on "Saturday Live" as the Euro-Rock duo "Strijka." They were nominated for the Perrier Award in 1996 and received their first commissioned series, "Armstrong and Miller," in 1997. The show was broadcast on the Paramount Channel and later on Channel Four.
Ben and Alexander took "The Armstrong and Miller Show" on tour in 2001 and performed 17 back-to-back shows. The success of the show gave Ben a platform to work on other projects, including television films like "Passion Killers" and "The Blind Date." He also appeared in films like "The Parole Officer" and "There's Only One Jimmy Grimble."
Ben has also had success on the big screen, starring alongside Johnny Vegas in the ITV Digital Monkey adverts and voicing the character. He has also appeared in films like "Birthday Girl" and "Johnny English."
In 2003, Ben continued his solo and comedy career, playing Rowan Atkinson's sidekick Bough in "Johnny English" and filming "The Prince and Me" in Canada. His comedy series "The Worst Week of My Life" aired on BBC1 in 2005 and was so successful that a second series was commissioned.
In 2006, Ben and Alexander were commissioned to create a pilot comedy show, which led to "The Armstrong and Miller Show" returning to television in 2007. The show was shown on BBC1 on Friday nights and was rewarded with a BAFTA for best comedy program in 2010.
Ben has also directed a film, "Huge," and appeared in the BBC's "Death in Paradise" in 2011. He is set to release his first book, "It's Not Rocket Science," in summer 2012. Ben has also appeared in the West End production of "The Ladykillers."
