Biography

Beau Bridges, the renowned actor, was born in Hollywood, California, to Lloyd Bridges and his wife, Dorothy Dean Bridges, who was his college sweetheart. Born just two days after the devastating attack on Pearl Harbour, Beau's arrival was marked by a power blackout, and he was consequently delivered by candlelight. His parents, who were avid readers, named him Lloyd Vernet Bridges III, but affectionately referred to him as Beau, inspired by Ashley Wilkes' son in the iconic novel Gone with the Wind.

Beau's family life was filled with creative energy, as his younger brother, Jeff Bridges, is also a talented actor, and his sister, Cindy Bridges, was born the following year. Despite being only 5'10", Beau showcased his athletic prowess by playing basketball for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) during his freshman year. However, he transferred to the University of Hawaii the subsequent year, only to drop out to pursue a career in acting.

Beau's professional journey began in 1967, when he landed his first major role. In his personal life, he was married twice, first to Julie Landifield, with whom he adopted a son, Casey Bridges, and had a son, Jordan Bridges. His second marriage to Wendy Treece Bridges resulted in three children: Dylan Bridges (born 1985),Emily Bridges (born 1987),and Ezekiel Jeffry Bridges.

In his free time, Beau enjoys playing the guitar and collecting Native American percussion instruments. He is also an avid ocean enthusiast, often engaging in activities such as swimming and surfing. Moreover, Beau is committed to various social causes, including environmental activism and handgun control.
