Aparna, a talented theatre and film artist, contemporary dancer, and Koothu-P-Pattarai associate, was born into a Malayali family in Chennai. She has acted in renowned plays like Six Characters in Search of an Author, Woyzeck, Moonshine, Sky Toffee, Sangadi Arinjo, and several Shakespearean plays.
Aparna made her cinematic debut with Martin Prakkat's ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi (2013),a super hit film where she played the role of Madhumitha, a college student and the love interest of Dulquer Salmaan. Her second movie as heroine was Asif Ali starrer Bicycle Thieves (2013).
She has also acted in the female lead roles in Mamas' Mannar Mathai Speaking 2 (2014),a sequel to 1995 cult comedy Mannar Mathai Speaking (1995),and Boban Samuel's Happy Journey (2014) starring Jayasurya. In Munnariyippu (2014),she played the role of a Junior journalist alongside Mammootty, receiving rave reviews for her acting skills.
Aparna has worked with various theatre groups in Chennai, including Masquerade, The Little Theatre, Magic Lantern, Madras Players, and Koothu-p-Pattarai, directing and acting in over 50 plays. Her favorite play remains "Moonshine And Skytoffee" by Perch, directed by Rajeev Krishnan.
She has also been a part of plays like 'Six Characters in Search of an Author' and 'Under The Mangosteen Tree', an adaptation of a Vaikom Mohammed Basheer tale. In 2014, she essayed the role of Lilly in the Mammooty starrer Gangster (2014).
One of her most successful films was Charlie (2015),her second collaboration with Dulquer Salmaan, where she portrayed Dr.Kani and received widespread acclaim. She later appeared in the movies School Bus (2016),Onnam Loka Mahayudham (2015),and Gangster (2014).
Aparna's recent films include Mazhayathu (2018),Oru Nakshathramulla Aakasham (2019),and Safe (2019).
