Anthony inherited an old 16mm Bolex from his Scottish grandfather, with whom he had a strong bond, and at the tender age of 11, he shot his first film in a graveyard in Chiswick, London, a memory he still cherishes to this day.
After graduating in Art and Design from New York, Anthony moved to Paris, where his mother is from, to study Theatre with renowned experts such as Maurice Sarrazin, Maurice Benichou, and Grotowsky. This experience had a profound impact on his artistic development.
Anthony started his career as a film director at the age of 20, producing a documentary on his travels through Tibet, accompanied by photographer Richard Lohr, titled "Island in the Sky", which was produced by Channel Four and won several awards, including the Times Documentary of the year award.
From 1993 to 2000, Anthony continued to make documentaries, such as "Justice" and "Take me to the moon", and music videos for notable artists like David Byrne, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Herbie Hancock, and others. He also co-founded the Theatre company Panam'Art with Vincent Cassel and Olivier Mayer, directing Cassel in the groundbreaking "Le Pointeur", which inspired them to work together on future projects.
Anthony has also acted in various productions, including the lead role in Bad Science by Arnold Barkus at the Edinburgh Festival, and alongside Suzan-Lori Parks in "The American Play" at the Theatre Nanterre-Amandiers. He has also written and directed several shorts, such as "Un Dimanche sans Ailes" with Vincent Cassel, "Halt!" distributed by MK2 theatrically, and "The Ant", distributed for Cinema and DVD by Lazennec/DVD Pocket.
In addition to his work in film and theatre, Anthony has also collaborated as a screenwriter with Indian director Pan Nalin on the documentary movie "Devadasi", about sacred prostitutes in India, co-produced by the BBC, France 2, and Canal Plus, and internationally distributed.
In 2005, Anthony founded the British production company "Alphapictures Ltd." with his partner Francesca Prandi, with the goal of developing and producing international popular art-house movies. The company's slate of projects includes "The Champions" and "Volcano", which Anthony directed.
Recently, Anthony has acted in several films, including La Verità sta in Cielo, La Musica del Silenzio, Walking to Paris, Il diario di Spezie, and Devils for TV, as well as working on various other projects.
