Anoop Simon, a Pakistani American actor, was born in Doha, Qatar, and raised in Reno, Nevada. His parents, Pakistani Christians, chose a traditional Indian first name for him, Anoop, which means "peaceful" or "calm". He is the eldest of three siblings.
During his high school days at Galena High School, Anoop met his best friend Jeremy McGuigan, and together they joined Jeremy's stage magic show. This marked the beginning of Anoop's passion for entertainment and acting. He credits his improv and acting skills to those days of performing live illusions in front of crowds.
After graduating from Galena H.S., Anoop joined the US Navy at the age of 17 to pursue his education in medicine. He honorably served the US Navy for eight years, during which he had the opportunity to live in Japan for three years. As a Hospital Corpsman/Combat Medic, he toured with the US Marine Corps in Iraq and Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Anoop's military training opened doors for a career as a professional Surgical Scrub/Asst. After his distinguished military service and medical career, he took the first step towards his lifelong dream of becoming an actor by enrolling in acting school at Take2Performers Studio in Reno, NV.
The acting training he received at Take2Performers Studio opened doors for representation from an L.A.-based talent agency. In January 2012, Anoop left his hometown of Reno for Hollywood to pursue his dream of becoming a professional actor. Since his arrival in L.A., he has had numerous opportunities and doors open.
In just his first year, Anoop became a member of the prestigious Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA),making him a bona fide actor. He has been featured in numerous TV shows and upcoming feature films, and has met and worked alongside some of Hollywood's greatest talents.
