Angie Cepeda, a talented actress, was born on August 2, 1974, in the vibrant city of Cartagena, Colombia. Growing up in Barranquilla, she was raised by her parents, José Cepeda and Yadhira Jiménez, both lawyers. However, after their divorce, Angie's father moved in with her mother and two sisters, Lorna and Ivette.
As a young woman, Angie initially considered pursuing a career in publishing. Nevertheless, she soon discovered her true passion lay in the world of drama. This realization led her to relocate to Bogotá, where she stayed with her aunt and began taking drama courses. Her early start in the industry included working for a beer company, appearing in advertisements, and landing bit parts in various soap operas and films.
Angie's breakthrough role came when she was cast in the soap opera Las Juanas in 1997. This success caught the attention of TV producers, who subsequently offered her leading roles in prime-time shows, including her iconic role in Luz María in 1998.
In the film world, Angie collaborated with Peruvian director Francisco Lombardi on the critically acclaimed Captain Pantoja and the Special Services in 1999.
