Andrea Weiss is a renowned documentary filmmaker, globally recognized for her exceptional work. Her feature documentary, Bones of Contention, is a thought-provoking exploration of the historical memory movement in Spain and the lesser-known story of LGBT repression under the Franco dictatorship. The film premiered at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival, subsequently screening at various international film festivals and enjoying a limited art-house cinema release in Spain.
In addition to Bones of Contention, Weiss co-wrote and directed Escape To Life, a feature documentary that delves into the lives of Erika and Klaus Mann. The film premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival and received a wide European theatrical and television release.
Weiss's extensive filmography also includes U.N. Fever, Recall Florida, I Live At Ground Zero, Seed Of Sarah, Paris Was a Woman, A Bit Of Scarlet, Before Stonewall, for which she received an Emmy Award, International Sweethearts of Rhythm, and Tiny & Ruby: Hell Divin' Women.
