Anders Henrikson, a multitalented individual, was born on June 13, 1896, in Stockholm, Sweden. He embarked on a journey to pursue his passion for acting, abandoning his high school education to do so. Prior to dedicating himself to the craft, Henrikson spent time honing his skills in music, initially studying piano at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm in 1914. The following year, he secured a spot at the acting school of the renowned Royal Dramatic Theatre (RDT),where he would go on to spend most of his life as an actor and teacher.
As a young actor, Henrikson made his film debut at the tender age of 17. Throughout his illustrious career, he appeared in an impressive 60 feature films between 1913 and his passing in 1965. Furthermore, he demonstrated his versatility by also directing 30 feature films between 1933 and 1956. With a career spanning over five decades, Henrikson solidified his position as a first-class character actor, earning numerous accolades along the way.
Some of his notable awards include the RDT O'Neill scholarship and the Royal Medal "Litteris et artibus". Even in his final year, 1965, Henrikson remained active in both film and theatre, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of Swedish entertainment.
