Biography

Amy-Joyce Hastings is a talented and accomplished actress from Galway, Ireland. She holds a Bachelor in Acting Studies from Trinity College Dublin, graduating with a Distinction. Since then, she has appeared in various stage and screen productions, showcasing her versatility and range as an actress.

Amy-Joyce Hastings has received critical acclaim for her performances in several productions. Her portrayal of Oonagh in the powerful LGBTQ drama "Who We Love" (2021) earned her an IFTA Nomination for 'Best Supporting Actress - Film' at the 18th Irish Film & Television Academy Awards (2022). She also received a 'Best Supporting Actress' award for the same character in the originating short film "Lily" (2016),which was a critical success at international festivals.

Her early television credit saw her co-star opposite Henry Cavill in an episode of Showtime's multiple Emmy-winning series "The Tudors" (2007),"Message to the Emperor" (2007). She has also appeared in numerous stage productions, including playing Carol in David Mamet's "Oleanna", Estelle Rigault in Sartre's "No Exit", Maggie in the world premiere of "The Night Garden", and Cathy Calhoun in the first European production of "Orange Flower Water".

Amy-Joyce Hastings has also played Shakespearean heroine Miranda in a Summer tour of "The Tempest" in Ireland and portrayed Titanic Stewardess Violet Jessop in the world premiere of "Iceberg - Right Ahead!" at The Gatehouse, London to commemorate the Centenary of the Titanic disaster.

She began her film career as a young child actor when she was scouted by 'Bond' Movies casting director Debbie McWilliams for Michael Hirst's screen adaptation of "Fools of Fortune" (1990). She played the role of Oscar winner Julie Christie's young daughter in the Irish family epic directed by Pat O'Connor, which co-starred Iain Glen and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.

Amy-Joyce Hastings has also appeared in several other films and television shows, including "The Callback Queen" (2013),"Sanctuary" (2016),"Little Deaths" (2016),and "The Green Sea" (2021). She can next be seen as the female lead Máthair (Mother) in the forthcoming Irish language short film "Focail Baile Croí" (Words Home Heart),written and directed by Screen International 'Rising Star' Katie McNeice and as Bangharda McNally in Danú Media's Cine4 feature "Báite" (2025) directed by Ruán Magan.

In addition to her acting career, Amy-Joyce Hastings is also a promising screenwriter and film director. Her short films have won numerous awards at festivals worldwide and have been broadcast on RTÉ and Sky Television.
