Amanda Seales, a multifaceted creative, was born on July 1, 1981, in Los Angeles, California. At the tender age of eight, she relocated to Orlando, Florida, where she attended Dr. Phillips High School before pursuing higher education at SUNY Purchase for her undergraduate studies. Her academic journey continued with a master's degree in African American studies, with a concentration in hip hop, from Columbia University.
Amanda's career in the entertainment industry began with a role on the Nickelodeon sitcom My Brother and Me in 1994, playing the character Deonne. Her subsequent rise to fame came as VJ Amanda Diva, the face of hip-hop on MTV2's Sucker Free Sundays. In addition to her work as a television personality, Amanda has also explored her creative side as a recording artist and spoken word poet.
In 2011, Amanda made a significant career shift by changing her name back to Amanda Seales and returning to television. She also expanded her repertoire to include stand-up comedy, further solidifying her status as a talented and versatile performer. As the CEO of DivaWorks Inc, her production company, Amanda produces and performs content for both stage and screen.
