Alison's journey in the world of acting began at the tender age of nine, when she was captivated by the original Peter Pan movie. Inspired by the magical tale, she would often climb off the back of the sofa, attempting to defy gravity and take to the skies. Her imagination soon led her to create her own plays with friends, performing them for the neighborhood kids for a mere 25 cents a ticket.
As she entered her teenage years, Alison's family relocated to Minneapolis, where she enrolled in the summer program for kids at the renowned Guthrie Theater. It was here that she developed a deep affection for the smell of the theater and the thrill of performing in front of a live audience.
The following year, Alison's family moved to Northern California, where she landed her first lead role in a play, portraying the iconic Helen Keller in "The Miracle Worker." Her performance earned a standing ovation, with critics praising her "uninhibited talent." This moment marked a turning point in her journey, as she realized she had discovered her true calling.
Throughout her high school years, Alison continued to hone her craft, performing in various plays. She then went on to attend Chapman University in Orange, California, where she majored in theater. During her time at the university, she appeared in numerous productions at the Newport Theater Arts Center, Razz Ma Tazz dinner theater, and the GEM theater.
After graduating, Alison made the move to Los Angeles, seeking to break into the world of commercials and television. She secured a national commercial and worked on several low-budget films before taking a hiatus to focus on her family. However, she continued to take acting classes, always seeking to refine her craft.
Alison has had the privilege of studying with some of the industry's most esteemed instructors, including Milton Katselas at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, Gordon Hunt, Mike Fenton, Mark Malis, Joanne Baron, Clu Gulager, and even a master class with the legendary Dustin Hoffman. She has also honed her voice-over skills with Elaine Clark from 'Voice One' and character voices with Terry McGovern.
After a brief hiatus, Alison returned to the industry in 2003, losing 210 pounds in the process. With her children now grown, she relocated back to Los Angeles in 2016 and has since completed two indie films back-to-back, as well as several commercials.
Alison's early foray into the entertainment world was as a go-go dancer in Japan, a career path that, in hindsight, is now amusing. When not acting, she enjoys cooking, swing dancing, and exploring unusual locations around the world. She is also a passionate supporter of various charitable organizations, including A Dog's Life Rescue, Gorilla Doctors, and Stop The Traffik.
