Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, born on May 26th, 1799, in Moscow, was the son of noble parents, Sergei and Nadezhda, whose esteemed lineage was marked by Sergei's retirement as a major and Nadezhda's heritage as the granddaughter of an ennobled Ethiopian general.
