Alex Weiner is a BAFTA-nominated actor, renowned for his captivating portrayal of Rocket Raccoon in the AAA video game Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix.
He provided full performance capture and voiceover for the role, garnering widespread critical acclaim, which earned him multiple nominations, including BAFTA, CGN, and DICE awards, as well as wins at the ACTRA and GANG Awards.
At the tender age of 17, Alex began his career by being cast as Tom Goldberg in Olivier Abbou's Territories, alongside Michael Mando and Cristina Rosato. Shortly after, he landed the role of Ricky the Pizza Boy in Blue Mountain State's "Drunk Tank", which gained fame for its hilarious vodka-snorting scene with the show's co-creator, Chris Romano.
As he entered his mid-twenties, Alex took on the lead role in Ramiro Belanger's ClydeCynic, a dark character piece about a prodigal hypnotist who inflicts trauma on his patients as a coping mechanism for his own troubled past. His performance was praised by the Hollywood Reporter, stating, "[...] perfect. Weiner's big doe eyes and baby face make his descent into violence all the more disturbing". The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, received distribution, and won multiple awards worldwide.
Alex went on to star as Jimmy Basso in the TV pilot Fugazi, which he co-created with his long-time collaborator Jesse Camacho. His performance earned him a 2019 ACTRA award nomination for Best Actor. Jesse and Alex would go on to form Camacho Weiner Inc, a film company focused on storytelling and IP development.
Beyond his on-screen performances, Alex is a skilled voice-over artist, boasting a substantial number of credits.
