Biography

Alessandro Momo, a talented and promising young Italian actor, embarked on his acting career at a tender age, taking on starring roles in soap operas alongside Valerio Fioravanti.

He gained widespread recognition for his performances, particularly in Malicious (1973),a film directed by Salvatore Samperi, in which he shared the screen with the renowned Italian sex bomb, Laura Antonelli. In an uncanny parallel to the tragic fate of James Dean, who died in a car accident shortly after filming his final movie, Giant (1956),Alessandro Momo also met a premature end in his final film, Scent of a Woman (1974),also known as Profumo di Donna, alongside Vittorio Gassman and Agostina Belli.

Tragedy struck when Alessandro Momo lost his life in a motorcycle accident shortly after the filming of Scent of a Woman was completed. The circumstances surrounding his death were particularly poignant, as he had been given a Honda CB750 Four motorcycle by his friend and actress, Eleonora Giorgi, despite Italian traffic regulations at the time prohibiting riders under the age of 21 from operating such powerful vehicles. As a result, Eleonora Giorgi was investigated for reckless endangerment of a minor.

In memory of Alessandro Momo, Patrizio Sandrelli dedicated a song, "Brother in Love," which served as a poignant tribute to his friend and fellow actor.

Today, Alessandro Momo is laid to rest in Verano cemetery, alongside his father, Gabriel, who passed away in 2000.
