Person Biography:

Award-winning filmmaker and actor, King, has had a successful career spanning over 30 years. He has performed on stage, film, and television, with credits in notable productions such as Neighbours, A Country Practice, The Secret Life Of Us, Crashburn, Blue Heelers, Stingers, City Homicide, Rush, Killing Time, and Underbelly.

King is also an accomplished painter, having completed his Bachelor of Fine Art (major in painting) from the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts in 2006. After art school, he transitioned to filmmaking, combining his performance and fine art skills.

In 2013, King founded his production company, White Cube Picture Lab, with a mission to create intimate, avant-garde storytelling for the screen. He often performs multiple roles on a project, including director, cinematographer, sound designer, editor, and actor. King also designs the artwork for his film posters.

His films have received critical acclaim and have been screened at prestigious film festivals worldwide, including Moscow, Cinequest, Bogota, Las Vegas, Flickerfest, Sao Paulo, Black Maria, and New Orleans. His short film works were recently acquired by the Australian National Film and Sound Archive for their permanent collection.

King's 2019 short film, "Wild Will," world premiered at the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival and went on to screen in competition at over 50 festivals worldwide. The film received several awards, including the Jury Prize for "Innovation in Form" at the Brisbane International Film Festival and the Jury Award for "Best Short Film" at the Short Days 2020 in Rome.

King is also a screenwriter, with several short and feature film scripts completed. His screenplay "The Milk Bar" was an Academy Nicholl Quarter-Finalist, and his screenplay "Leo's Dream" received an Australian Writers Guild Monte Miller nomination and a Bluecat Screenplay Semi-Finalist placement.

In 2018, King was inducted into the Australian Writers Guild, Pathways program, a platform designed to showcase the best in Australian screenwriting talent.
