Glueckman's passion for movies began at a young age. With his bar mitzvah money, he invested in an 8mm movie camera, Eumig projector, and editing deck, allowing him to start making his own films. At 15, he wrote and directed his first feature, "The Babysitter and the Beasts," a horror thriller with synchronized sound.
Glueckman's film career continued to flourish as he attended the University of Michigan, where he served on the Cinema Guild and worked on the Ann Arbor Film Festival. Under the guidance of George Manupelli, he also made several films while at the university.
After graduating, Glueckman initially pursued a career in business, studying at Columbia University and working in advertising as a copywriter and producer. He eventually transitioned back to film, enrolling in an intensive film workshop at the New School, where he learned from industry professionals Jim Pasternak and Jessica Scott Gray.
Glueckman's big break came with the release of "Pickup" (1977),a 22-minute thriller starring Glenn Close in her first major film role. The film's success led to him being signed by Hollywood agent Cindy Turtle and relocating to Los Angeles in 1977.
Over the next several decades, Glueckman went on to produce and write numerous films, including "Russkies" (1987),"Gross Anatomy" (1989),and "The Fear Inside" (1992). He also wrote screenplays for major studios such as Disney, Universal, and Warner Brothers.
In the late 1990s, Glueckman became an early pioneer in the field of internet content, co-creating the Site Architecture for the groundbreaking "Mission: Impossible The Web Adventure" for Apple Computer. The site garnered 36 million hits in its first six weeks online.
Glueckman's most recent projects include co-producing five pilot episodes of the interactive dating show "Scoring" for MTV networks in 2002. He is currently the Co-founder, Chairman, and President of eJamming Inc, a high-tech company that enables musicians to play music together over the internet in real-time.
Throughout his career, Glueckman has received numerous accolades, including being named one of the top 24 technology innovators by Fortune magazine in 2008 and one of the top 10 Breakout Tech companies by Forbes magazine in 2009. He was also profiled on Bloomberg TV's "Innovators Show" in May 2011.
