Akemi, an American actress, was born in the vibrant city of New York and spent her formative years in the charming surroundings of Detroit, Michigan, outside of which she resided.
During her early years, Akemi pursued a career in Rhythmic Gymnastics, competing at both national and international levels. At the tender age of 13, she achieved the impressive feat of becoming Junior Olympic Champion, and subsequently, she was selected to represent the United States as a member of the U.S. National Team. In the year 2002, Akemi proudly represented her country at the World Championships as a part of the esteemed U.S. Group team.
Following her illustrious gymnastics career, Akemi made the decision to relocate to the bustling metropolis of New York City, where she secured a prestigious dance scholarship to The Alvin Ailey School for ballet and modern dance.
While residing in NYC, Akemi furthered her education by studying acting at the renowned Lee Strasberg Institute and subsequently earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
