Born in the United States in 1975, Zoe came to America with her family when she was just a young child, being the youngest of 16 siblings. Growing up in a predominantly Vietnamese family in semi-rural Bristol, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia, Zoe was immersed in a unique cultural environment that would later influence her artistic pursuits.
From a tender age of four, Zoe's interest in music began to blossom, and she went on to appear in high school productions, honing her skills and developing a passion for the performing arts. After completing her secondary education, Zoe pursued higher education at Yale University, where she studied Southeast Asian politics, a subject that would later inform her documentary filmmaking endeavors.
During her college years, Zoe was a member of the all-female pop group "Collage," often referred to as the "all-female version of Boys II Men." Although she initially aspired to pursue a career in medicine, Zoe's creative inclinations eventually took precedence, and she relocated to Los Angeles to complete pre-med courses.
While studying at the University of Southern California (USC),Zoe enrolled in a documentary filmmaking class, which sparked a creative epiphany. Her five-minute documentary earned a runner-up award, and she went on to graduate from USC film school, garnering recognition for her documentary "I Am Viet Hung: Vietnamese Hero."
In recent years, Zoe has completed the recording of her debut pop/rock CD, a testament to her dedication to her craft and her ability to adapt to various artistic mediums. Throughout her journey, Zoe has remained true to her Vietnamese heritage, infusing her work with a unique cultural perspective that sets her apart from her peers.
