In the scorching New Mexico Desert, a team of National Guard trainees delivers supplies to a camp where soldiers and scientists are setting up a monitoring system in Sector 16. But upon arrival, they find the camp eerily abandoned and receive a distorted distress signal from the hills. The sergeant assembles a rescue team, only to be ambushed and trapped by grotesque, flesh-eating mutants. As they fight for survival, the team must confront the horrors that lurk in the desert.
