In late 19th century England, a young woman named Amy Foster shows kindness to a destitute Russian immigrant named Yanko Goorall who has been shipwrecked and is desperate for help.
A Ukrainian émigré, Yanko Goorall, is the sole survivor of a shipwreck in the late 19th century. After washing up on a farm, Yanko is initially met with fear, but kindness from Amy Foster, a servant, sets him on a path of recovery and romance.
