Biography

Janet Henfrey's academic pursuits began with taking English prelims at St Anne's, Oxford, where she laid the foundation for her future studies. Following this, she went on to read history at the esteemed institution. Her academic journey continued with a graduate year at Smith, a renowned educational establishment. As part of the RADA's US intake, she then pursued a career in the performing arts. Since then, she has had a diverse and accomplished career in both the theatre and film and television industries.

Her impressive list of credits includes notable works such as 'The Singing Detective', 'The Jewel in the Crown', and an impressive nine series of 'As Time Goes By' alongside the illustrious Judi Dench. Her work in the theatre has taken her to various stages across the UK, including the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company and the Oxford Playhouse.

More recently, as of November 2005, she was involved in the production of 'The Black Rider', which premiered at the Barbican Centre in London, before embarking on international tours to San Francisco and Sydney. The production will also be showcased in Los Angeles in the forthcoming year.

In addition to her performing career, Janet Henfrey occasionally collaborates with academic Rose Bailey and the poet herself to deliver dramatic readings of the works of the esteemed poet, UA Fanthorpe.
