Snow Cake

Alex, an ex-convict, embarks on a road trip to visit an old friend in Winnipeg, only to be joined by Vivienne, a lively but pesky girl who crashes his ride. Their budding friendship is cut short when a fatal car accident claims Vivienne's life. After meeting with the police, Alex visits Vivienne's mother, Linda, a high-functioning autistic woman who befriends him and convinces him to stay longer to help with her daily routine. As Alex navigates his grief, he finds new connections and learns to appreciate the uniqueness of Linda, despite his own struggles to cope with loss.
