Baron Frankenstein arrives in a new town to collaborate with Dr. Brandt, but finds him in a mental institution after losing his mind. He takes a room at a boarding house run by Anna, who is engaged to Dr. Karl, a doctor at the asylum where Brandt is being kept. Frankenstein blackmails Karl and Anna to assist him in his quest to learn a secret Brandt was about to share, and kidnaps Brandt to transplant his brain into another body.
