Biography

Simon Ward, the renowned British actor, was born in London, England in 1941, to a family deeply rooted in the automotive industry, with his father being a car dealer. His educational journey commenced at Alleyn's School, a prestigious institution that also served as the home of the National Youth Theatre, where he joined at the tender age of 13 and remained a part of it for eight formative years.

Following his attendance at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Ward honed his craft by working in repertory theatre in various locations, including Northampton, Birmingham, and Oxford. Additionally, he occasionally appeared in London's West End, laying the groundwork for his future success.

Ward's big break in the theatre scene came in 1967, when he took on a role in Joe Orton's acclaimed play "Loot", which subsequently led to a string of small film and television roles. His most notable performances, however, are arguably his portrayals of the lead characters in the 1972 film "Young Winston" and the 1975 television series "All Creatures Great and Small".
