Durban Poison is a fictionalized account of the true crime story of South Africa's Bonnie and Clyde, Charmaine Phillips and Pieter Grundlingh. The film follows the couple on a road trip during a police investigation, where they show the police the locations of the four men they killed. As the investigation unfolds, a savvy police officer is skeptical of their claims and the truth slowly comes to light through flashbacks that reveal the couple's passions and wounds. The story culminates in a dramatic final beach scene.
