Two military leaders, Captain Cooney and Lieutenant Costa, face off in a tense standoff as they establish an artillery observation post in 1944, their contrasting personalities on the brink of eruption.

As World War II nears its end, a National Guard Infantry unit is tasked with establishing crucial artillery observation posts in a vital location. Despite his reservations about Captain Cooney's leadership, Lieutenant Costa is forced to follow orders when Cooney sends him and his men on a perilous mission, only to abandon them without support, sparking a vow of revenge.
