In this drama, Jacob, an Amish farmer, feels suffocated by his traditional way of life, unlike his wife Annie who is deeply rooted in their community. When Jacob accidentally kills a wealthy outsider who's been exploiting their family, Annie turns to her parents for support, while Jacob seeks to introduce their young son Caleb to modern luxuries. However, their actions are soon discovered, and custody is awarded to Annie, leading Jacob to take drastic measures to be reunited with his son.
