A wealthy businessman, Manoharlal Agarwal, lives with his family and asks a man, Satyaprakash Agarwal, to be the sole arbitrator in a matter concerning himself and Hariram. Manoharlal hopes to influence the verdict by getting his daughter engaged to Satyaprakash's son, Ajay. However, the arbitrator rules in favor of Hariram, and Manoharlal becomes enraged. He breaks off the engagement and seeks revenge by becoming the arbitrator in a new case, intending to financially ruin Satyaprakash. Meanwhile, Nirmala and Ajay have fallen in love and plan to elope and get married, but Manoharlal tries to stop them.
