Grade-school student Ramona Quimby has a vivid imagination that often puts her at odds with her strict teacher, Mrs. Meacham. When her father loses his job, the family must adjust to a new reality, including Dad taking on household responsibilities. Ramona tries to come up with ways to save their house, but with everyone preoccupied, she turns to her aunt Bea for support. However, even Aunt Bea is dealing with her own issues, including her ex-boyfriend Hobart, the Quimbys' neighbor.
