A poet named Orphee becomes enamored with Death, known as the Princess, and they fall in love. Tragedy strikes when Orphee's wife, Eurydice, is killed by the Princess' minions. Orphee sets out to rescue her, braving the Underworld, only to be sent back to the world of the living by the Princess, leaving him to continue his life without Eurydice.
