Mike and Sean Brody, sons of Chief Brody, work at Sea World Orlando. Mike is a park engineer and Kathryn Morgan, a killer whale biologist, is his girlfriend. Sean is involved with a water skier, Kelly Ann Bukowski. Sea World is opening an 'Undersea Kingdom' attraction, accessible from the ocean by gates. However, a malfunctioning gate allows a young Great White Shark to enter, and its 35-foot mother follows, killing a maintenance diver. The shark wreaks havoc, and Mike, Kathryn, Sea World manager Calvin Bouchard, and photographer Phillip Fitzroyce must find a way to eliminate it before it kills again.
